Top Questions Answered
Do I need to reserve a separated seat for my child?
In most of the cases children under the age of 2 can sit on their parents’ lap at a fixed cost (depending from the airline carrier). For children 2 years of age and older it is almost always necessary a separate seat which must be reserved at the normal rate.
Families with little ones can still embark first?
Yes in most of the cases, boarding for families with small children will continue to operate first, however some of the carrier might allow VIP classes of passengers and passengers who have purchased a seat in the front rows or with more legroom to board the aircraft first, then followed by passengers in need of special assistance and families with children under the age of 5 and therefore all other passengers. Please note that if you are traveling with a large group that includes a child under the age of 5, some group members may be required to board with all other passengers.
Is there a child seat or a child belt on board?
In this case most of the carriers are ready to welcome the youngest passengers and have additional belts for children so that they can travel in their parents arms in total safety. Nonetheless, we are aware that not all the airlines are equipped with CARES protection systems seats or restraint systems but children can travel in their own car seat or restraint system within the manufacturer’s recommended age / weight / height limits.
How many hand bags can my children carry?
For the vast majority of carriers children over the age of 2 can bring the same amount of hand baggage of an adult. Like for the adults, if children only wear ONE neck hand luggage not exceeding 50 x 40 x 20 cm, handles and wheels included, luggage transport will always be guaranteed with them in the upper slots or, if necessary, under the seat in front of the passenger.
What kind of food and drinks, milk and creams can I bring on board?
There are very strict safety regulations to be observed. In general, liquids are allowed in hand luggage but only in containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml. These containers should be placed in resealable transparent plastic bags of 20 x 20 cm. You can find a series of envelopes of this type at the airport; in some airports a small additional fee may be applied to the delivery of envelopes. The total quantity of liquids cannot exceed 1 liter (e.g. 10 containers of 100ml).
